An Easter Activity To Teach About The Resurrection of Christ Jesus & What It Means To Us
Objective: To teach about the resurrection of Christ Jesus & what it means to us
Bible Reference:
God has raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. – Ephesians 2:6
Introduction:
Ask the children to spend a few moments on the verse above and ask them what they understand of it. You may then continue by saying – “Did you know that when Christ died, we died with Him. When He was buried, we were buried with Him. When He rose, we rose with Him. Did you also know that Jesus died on the cross for our sins that we can begin a new life in Him just by believing in Him?!
We are a new creation in Jesus!”
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature; old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. – 2 Corinthians 5:17
The moment we are born again, we have passed out of the old creation of sin and death by our death with Christ and have come into the new creation of resurrected life by our resurrection with Christ. In short, we have passed “from death into life.”
Isn’t that amazing?
Activity:
As a segue into the activity, you could say that while all this is nice to read, we all need a nice fun way to drive it into our minds so that we get habituated to living life the Jesus way rather than the old and boring way.
Ask them to take a plain old T-Shirt(or shirt, kurta, top) they have lying around, a few colors and of course a Bible!
Below are a bunch of references from the Bible. Ask them to read through each verse and note down the word/words from each verse that represents what God has given them in this new born-again life!

Once they’ve found all the words, ask them to write “NEW CREATION IN CHRIST” at the center of the T-Shirt. And then fill all the empty areas around with the words they’ve noted down.
Ask them to proudly don the new t-shirt that shouts out God’s amazing gift of a resurrected life in Jesus!
