Puffed Up
To teach that pride goes before a fall
Objective: To teach that pride goes before a fall
You will need: Balloons and a volunteer
Explanation: Decorate the hall with a few balloons before the kids arrive. You may begin by saying, “Hi kids! We thought we will surprise you today by decorating the hall. What do you think? Do you like it? All these balloons were blown by our friend here.” (point to the volunteer)
You may continue by saying, “Do you know what it means to be puffed up? You are full of yourself or you are prideful. Being proud means that you think that you are more important than others. God does not like it at all when we are full of pride. Do you know what happens when we are full of pride? Open your bibles to Proverbs 16:18.
“Pride is the first step toward destruction. Proud thoughts will lead you to defeat.” – Proverbs 16:18
What does it say? it says that pride leads to destruction. That is just like a balloon. We get puffed up as we become more and more proud and then finally…POP! We are totally destroyed.”
